The presidential election has permeated through everything. It has affected the markets, sales, communities, ideologies. It was the first thing on everyone's lips this week no matter personal or business or even escape. I attended the YJLive! conference this weekend and it was all we could talk about. It's been unreal, jarring, disturbing and celebratory (for some). This is unprecedented and we have no idea what happens next.
Our environment has been reframed, but we remain the same and arguably stronger. We are being forced as individuals and as a society to not only define who we are and what we believe in, but to take action, to take a stand.
Sometimes this is scary (it's certainly scary for me), but powerful things happen when you stand up for yourself, your community and what you believe in. You will notice deeper respect from your peers and competitors and shifts will happen.
If you are an entrepreneur, I encourage you to do this work and to strengthen your personal brand identity before things change, before environments change, before people change. Because they will.
"If you stand up and be counted, from time to time you may get yourself knocked down. But remember this: a man flattened by an opponent can get up again, a man flattened by conformity stays down for good." - Thomas J. Watson
