The Winning Brands of Natural Products Expo East

Last weekend I attended the Natural Products Expo East and had the opportunity to discover and catch up with countless natural brands. I took photos of some of my favorite brand design (included below for your perusing pleasure) and also had many conversations about what made a winning brand. Some of the concepts that came up in conversation with entrepreneurs, investors, retailers and colleagues included:

  • Consistent messaging
  • Persistence
  • A great team
  • Solid funding
  • Experience
  • A strong network
  • Awareness

If there were a simple, one-size fits all answer, then there would be way more awesome brands in the world (the definition of winning is a whole other rabbit hole, of course). What really makes a winning brand? All of the above. The truth is that building a strong brand requires an ironclad identity that permeates through a strategic alignment of each of the above (and much more).
